In our life, we keep working from the moment we were born to the moment we die. We may not define it to be “work” but it could be our body that’s working, our mind or some kind of physical work etc. So among all these things that we do which are the ones we should do every day and why?
Well, we agree with the fact that we need to exercise every day to keep ourselves healthy. Some of us do pilates, yoga or aerobics. But what about the brain that accepts these facts and reminds us to do exercises. We need exercise for our brain too. Ain’t that, right? Well apparently exercise does train our brain simultaneously while making us fit and healthy. So here are five things I decided to share that helps you train your brain. On a note why train our brain? The answer is pretty simple to think for yourself and if not here’s what you will find when you browse, “Importance of Brain”.
The brain is arguably the most important organ in the human body. It controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel, and enables us to have memories and feelings — all the things that make us human.
Jotting down the five things in here for you. They are simple and you definitely are doing it every day but still if not do start now. Because it’s never too late to start something that boosts you!
Read everyday
This is something you probably are doing now when you read the blog. It is vital that you read every day to keep your brain trained and working. Read for an hour at least every day. When you decide to read more make sure you take small breaks to make sure you remember what you are reading. Don’t just read stuff for the sake but make sure when you read something you focus on it and eventually ensure that you remember the points that are important for your self-growth. I also suggest that apart from reading all your official, educational stuff you also take out an hour or half to read a book. A random book or something that you wanted to know but never got time. You all have shelves filled with books pick a random one and start reading it. Sure you will enjoy it. Get time for yourself to read for pleasure and fun.
Write a To-Do list
Most people don’t believe in writing and maintaining a To-Do list but I say there is no harm in trying things that won’t cause any chaos to you. Just give it a shot it might help you. It is also proven a To-Do list will improve your success rate. But while I tell you to maintain the To-Do list I also want to make sure that you get your list right. So what you have to do is turn your to-do list into a why to-do list. So what you will have to do is when you list the To-Do just adjacent to it write down the answer to “why”. Why do you want to do that particular task? Why is invited to your To-Do list? Write down why it matters. Write down how you — or someone around you — will benefit. Write down what you’ll learn, what you’ll gain … write down the what and the why. Apply these for the tasks that seem difficult and boring to you. You will find a difference.
On the question of why should we be doing this, I have something for you that will help convince you. Check this out. Well to all my nerdy friends this study will do to get this exercise started because it involves science and others who are reading this I can only offer you my belief and experience. ;-)
Write down your ideas
Do you have that one revolutionary idea to bring Iron Man back to life? Write it down now, we are waiting for you. Jk
Well, whatever pops into your brain make sure you write it down. In the present digital world we are stuck with only typing but why not try to use our wonderful hands. When was the last time you actually wrote something with a pen on paper? The answer may be today, yesterday or two days ago but still in a few more years the answer might be, “A month ago”.
Write down your ideas, not the official reports or classwork matter. But for a change write your craziest idea in your personal journal.
Meditate
Not to discuss more on this because if you have been following my posts you are now definitely compelled to take up this hobby. Start meditating, two minutes or twenty minutes but give it a try. Preferably in the morning. Sit straight, cross-legged on a mat. Close your eyes and baam!!! Travel to another dimension or think nothing and just focus on your breathing. Well, meditating has a lot of benefits and clearly everything that you already know but just in case if you are not convinced. Here something to butter you up!
Get out of your comfort zone
Everything in this covers it all in itself. Think for yourself, when is I ask you what’s your favourite meal and you say pancakes with maple syrup. So I tell you from now on I will be feeding you every day with pancakes. So what will you say? “Nova is insane”
Pretty much right with your thoughts about my insanity similarly is your brain. So you feed it with the same routines, hobbies and activities how is it going to feel? It no longer will find life interesting so you have to fill the fun. Challenge yourself on the micro-level every day. For instance, brush your teeth with your left hand rather than right tomorrow morning (if you're right-handed). Learn a new language or learn a new musical instrument.
Try adopting all these in your life. These five things including exercise are a must for homo sapiens. Hey, there Homo-Sapiens drop in your thoughts and hope you got a gist about training your brain. See you next Friday!
Regards
Nova
